I've answered my own question in part. Oltu taşı means 'jet', a black
form of Amber. The humorous question for any Turkish readers of this
thread is this: when a Turkish reader sees 'otlu' by itself, do they
think, 'jet', 'aux fine herbs', or 'cheese'?
