I have a lateral thought. Assuming for the moment that Chris has accepted or will accept a nomination, why not recommend *both* of us to the board as co-chairs? The IPMC is special. New members pop up all the time and need to be fed to the board; projects need karmic assistance, etc. Having two will improve coverage. A variation on this theme would be to call one of us Chair and the other Vice-Chair, with the Vice-Chair empowered to pitch in on acks and karma, and the chair responsible for the reports.
