However, you are allowed to have them on the page, just with a 'thanks to ...' , be sure that any external links like these use the 'nofollow' attribute as specified by the PRC (so as to not water down the value of the main ASF thanks page.)
If you look at the Lucene Java page ( http://lucene.apache.org/java/docs/index.html ), I see a link to the book page without a nofollow. Is that allowed?
