+1 I may be mistaken, but from the what I can tell UIMA has had to manage with barely any mentor support for the past year or two. It's a failure of the Incubator that we haven't been able to help them more effectively. Unfortunately I currently don't have the extra cycles to become more than the lurker I currently am at UIMA, but perhaps others would like to step up? It's a pretty functional project that seems to just need a little push in the right direction. Every time I've looked at the project I've seen healthy issue tracker activity and patches being posted. The Jira contribution reports point out people like Bhavani Iyer, Burn Lewis, Lev Kozakov and Eugenie Giesbrecht as contributors with numerous accepted patches. Not having followed the project more closely I can't tell if they are all from IBM, but I wouldn't see that as a blocker for committership. It's good for people to see that contributions will be rewarded by committership.
