Sure. Perhaps I'm being a bit too anti-sourceforgish here. But still there is this feeling in my guts that it might produce more useful (more features, higher quality, faster, ... take your pick) projects if there is some cooperation. I have learned this back from the days where everybody (including me of course) started to write his own 3D graphics engine after the first 3D engins came out ... > > [...] with little to no cooperation (esp. on the code level) > > between the ones already here. > > The solution is for the communities to talk with each other, and to decide > to act in concert. Mhmm, this sounds more like a goal than a solution, especially the more projects come in. It might help if there is a little nudge into this direction, such as joint mailing lists or discussion forums. And I in the case of OpenJPA, if both the DB PMC would be willing to sponsor it, and the project would be interested in being sponsored by the DB PMC (perhaps even graduate to DB) then this would foster cooperation or at least communication as well. cheers, Tom --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
