To keep this discussion honest and open, I would appreciate if we could dissociate it from the particular case of Logging Services. I am happy to discuss whatever questions or comments you might have on LS on a separate thread. Is that OK with you?

As a general rule, developing community is essential to the long-term viability of a project. And in the case of Loggging, it sounds as if you've really got an ontological collection of otherwise unrelated projects, which at the least means that each needs community development.
Dw addressed the rest of your issues, and I'm in agreement with him, so I'll leave his words to stand.

Whatever they wish to say. One thing that I like about the Incubator is that it provides a focal point for discussing ASF practices.
