Hey guys, You guys mind giving your opinions/impressions wrt the status of the directory project which has been in incubation for I believe 7 months now?
Directory is slated for a TLP with 6 sub projects and she's big in terms of code base. We currently have a highly active community of 3 people with several lurkers, and 1-2 people who are probably MIA. Also a few folks have contacted me off list but I'm trying to funnel them onto the public list. Our only limitation currently is a dependency on Snacc4J which we plan to eliminate within a months time thanks to Snickers a high performance ASN.1/BER runtime and stub compiler based on NIO. Both Alan Cabrera and I are currently focusing on this critical piece to get it wrapped up. When we began in the incubator, we decided to rewrite the server which was formerly known as LDAPd from scratch. This cost us some time but now we have a minimal server up (NOT very useful yet) we're focused on eliminating this licensing issue which seems to be the primary concern.
