Hello, Why statistics such as *average packet latency* and *average hops* are unspecified in the garnet simulator stats file and why the latency of the flits and packets in the network are reported in simulation ticks rather than the number of cycles it takes for the flit or packet to reach from the source router to the destination router?
Furthermore, by seeing the parts that calculated the packet latency, I realized that the routing latency (the time it takes for each router to route a packet based on the defined routing algorithm) is ignored when computing the latency of packets and flits. With this in mind, how can one distinguish the effect of routing in each router (like adaptive routing) versus the source routing where the routing is predetermined and pre-calculated, on the overall packet latency?
