Hi Pedro,

I am not as familiar with adding/modifying registers in gem5, but there was a
paper a few years ago called InvisiSpec where they added a hidden buffer and
their gem5 code is public on GitHub:

https://github.com/mjyan0720/InvisiSpec-1.0

Not sure if it is similar to what you are trying to do or not, but figured it
might be a good reference.

As far as adding new instructions in ARM, I have been working on adding new
instructions in ARM as well, but more on the store side, so I am not as
familiar with reading more bytes, but if you have questions with how the isa
files relate, please let me know and I'll see if I can help at all based on
what I've been doing.

Respectfully,

Jason Z.
