Dear Matt, Many thanks for catching this error! It did indeed solve the problem; I was able to successfully run square and other applications from hip-samples on both, the manually built dockerfile with everything related to rocBLAS and MIOpen commented, and the pre-built docker image which I believe has rocBLAS and MIOpen installed (based on its size).
