Dear other users --
When I run gem5, it produces in m5out/ a file named gem5.log. This seems to be a copy of cout (maybe with some other things). I spent considerable time grep'ing the sources, etc., but cannot find where this is set up, whether it can be compressed by naming if gem5.log.gz, etc. (Needless to say, I have also grep'ed all my setup (which is borrowed from another significant project so I can claim to know all the details), and can't find it in there either.) Output still goes to standard output, but also appears in this log file. Searching on the web also did not turn up anything.
