There are two separate issues here, the first is making sure that the device is 
included in the gem5 configuration and it look like with the default 
configuration files this is not the case for x86, so you should add it. 

After that you'll notice if the device is recognized by the linux kernel you've 
got or not. In the latter case you'll need to recompile a kernel with support.
