Hi all,

I am getting kernel too old error and trying to solve it for a while. I
have come across 2 solutions;
1. Compile the code on an earlier version of kernel
2. Compile a kernel from scratch and use its binary

I tried to compile the kernel with defconfig option and it got stuck (I
think - took to long to start the system and I killed it). I will be
installing earlier version of ubuntu (10.04 LTS) with kernel v2.6.32 and
try to compile the code on it.

What I want to know is how do you handle this?
- Have you swapped your default OS kernel with an earlier version to do
this ?
- I also downloaded gem5 kernel configuration options. But they are written
for v2.6, so if you want to compile a newer version of kernel to work on
what would you consider changing in the config file?

Thanks in advance
Mehmet
