Hi Nilay,

I am not sure I follow your comment. pkg-config is used for protobuf, but
not for anything else at this point. I cannot reproduce the error on my
side as my pkg-config knows of protobuf and handles it correctly. The
tests in the scons script check that you have pkg-config, and
protoc/protobuf. Assuming these two tests pass I do not see why the
pkg-config invocation should ever fail unless your setup is having issues.
Perhaps I am missing something...
