We invite the gem5 community to participate in the gem5 Workshop at ISCA 
2025<https://iscaconf.org/isca2025/>, a full-day event dedicated to discussing 
the latest developments in the gem5 simulation framework.
This workshop aims to foster collaboration, highlight innovative research, and 
shape the future of gem5 through presentations and open discussions.

Workshop Overview

The gem5 Workshop at ISCA 2025<https://iscaconf.org/isca2025/> will feature a 
keynote presentation by Dr. Bobby R. Bruce, gem5 engineer, who will discuss 
recent developments, challenges, and the future roadmap of gem5.
The core of the workshop will consist of presentations from community members, 
covering how gem5 is being used in research and industry, the introduction of 
new features, and discussions on best practices and challenges.

The event will conclude with a gem5 Town Hall, offering an open forum for 
discussion on the management, development, and future direction of gem5.

Submission Guidelines

We welcome submissions for 20-minute presentations on gem5-related topics.
If you are interested in presenting, please prepare and submit a 1-page PDF 
describing your talk and its relevance to the gem5 community by May 1, 2025 via 
HotCRP at https://gem5workshop25.hotcrp.com<https://gem5workshop25.hotcrp.com/>.

Submissions should include:

  *   Title of the presentation
  *   Presenter’s name, affiliation and contact email address
  *   An abstract outlining the key discussion points
  *   Relevance to the gem5 community and contributions to the workshop

Topics of Interest

We encourage submissions on a broad range of gem5-related topics, including but 
not limited to:

  *   New Features and Models – Contributions expanding gem5’s capabilities
  *   Industrial Applications – Case studies and real-world uses of gem5 in 
industry
  *   Software Engineering and Infrastructure – Enhancements to the gem5 
codebase, performance optimizations, and architectural improvements
  *   Tools, Visualizations, and Analysis – Methods for improving usability, 
debugging, and performance evaluation
  *   User Experiences and Case Studies – Sharing lessons learned and best 
practices
  *   Integration with Other Tools – Combining gem5 with other frameworks and 
methodologies
  *   Proposed Research Leveraging gem5 – Future ideas and experimental designs 
using gem5

(Note: The schedule may be adjusted based on the number of accepted 
presentations.)

gem5 Town Hall: Shaping the Future of gem5

The gem5 Town Hall is an interactive session where users, developers, and 
researchers can discuss the future of gem5.
Unlike structured presentations, this session provides a unique opportunity for 
attendees to ask questions, propose ideas, and directly engage with the gem5 
maintainers.

Key discussion topics may include:

  *   Prioritization of new features and improvements
  *   Challenges in using and developing gem5
  *   Enhancing community collaboration and contributions

Whether you are a longtime contributor or new to gem5, the Town Hall is an 
excellent opportunity to engage with the community and help drive the evolution 
of the gem5 project.

The PC members will be responsible for reviewing presentation submissions to 
ensure their suitability for the workshop.
