Do you edit the symbol with "down_symbol" from the hierarchy tab? This edits the symbol in the library, not its instance in the schematic. Change the slot of an instance of a symbol in a schematic with the attribute editor (accel [ee]). The pin number should immediately change. > exit gschem, restart, and load the sheet.
