Indeed. So please remember that the job of a layout tool is to describe the 
*geometry* of *physical* objects. It's *not* just a graphical tool, nor should 
it describe the fabrication procedure. Its foundations must be based on 
geometric abstractions, not metaphysical intentions. It seems to me that your 
conception is much closer to Inkscape than mine is.
