What I tried to express: For unexperienced people building the latest developer branch from sources is asking for trouble. And often it is not necessary because the Linux distribution has a package manager which makes installation of latest stable release easy. I think due the work of people like Chitlesh GOORAH, Wernber Hoch and many others support for gEDA/PCB and related tools is not too bad. When I started with Linux 10 years ago (SuSE) I tried to compile a small QT application which was not available from SuSE and I generated much noise in mailing list, because my Linux box was missing many development packages. (And I have to admit that I failed building a working gwave2 some weeks ago, so there seems to be not much progress in my skills. But smart Ivan Filgueiras solved the issue, see http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=293397 ) Thanks Stefan Salewski _______________________________________________ geda-user mailing list geda-user@moria.seul.org http://www.seul.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/geda-user
