No, it didn't! I put the second sheet in the same directory as the first one, but the directory obviously didn't get searched - so I placed in the project directory a file called gafrc containing just the line (source-library ".") And suddenly it worked. Maybe this should be added to the FAQ at http://geda.seul.org/wiki/geda:faq-gschem? Thanks for your pointer!
