Project News
----------------------------

* Seth Gervin from MapServer and Harrissou Sant-anna from QGIS have been
onboarded for sponsored development to enhance GDAL documentation. See
https://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/gdal-dev/2025-March/060363.html for details
* GDAL 3.10.3 is expected in the next week or so
* GDAL 3.11.0b1 is expected in the middle of April, with final release expected
in the first part of May
* Even's GDAL talk has been accepted to FOSS4GE 2025. Learn more about joining
him at https://2025.europe.foss4g.org/

Maintenance activities update
------------------------------------------

Alessandro

* Continued gdal_contour and 'gdal raster contour' bug fixing and enhancement
* gdal_rasterize activity
* Investigation and collation of common argument needs across the new CLI.

Dan

* Implemented fully out-of-tree documentation build task based using CMake. A
bit more iteration on windows is needed, but it is expected to work on that
platform once complete.

* Improve buildvrt to support mosaic of tiles of different resolutions and
control resampling scenarios more precisely

* 10+ PR reviews

Even

* Refactor gdal_translate and gdalwarp into 'gdal raster reproject' and 'gdal
raster resize' where appropriate
* 'gdal raster reproject' – bringing over many gdalwarp options
* 'gdal raster astype|scale|unscale' CLI
* 'gdal vector geometry' CLI implementation of things like settype, geomtype,
explode, and makevalid
* port of 'gdalmdiminfo' to new CLI
* GDAL Streamed Algorithm Format Driver
https://gdal--11962.org.readthedocs.build/en/11962/drivers/raster/gdalg.html
https://gdal--11962.org.readthedocs.build/en/11962/drivers/vector/gdalg.html
which allows streaming GDAL algorithms as described by concatenation of
streamable operations using the new CLI

Javier

* Implementation and advocacy for an open NTRIP catalog. See
https://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/proj/2025-March/011788.html for details.

* Javier will also be in Mostar for FOSS4GE. Learn more about joining him at
https://2025.europe.foss4g.org/

Chris

* gdalraster R C++ bindings nearing completion

The next GDAL Maintainers Meeting is 04/24/2024 at 13:00 UTC. GDAL PSC members
