Hello all,

apologies if this has been asked before - I couldn't find anything, but might have missed past messages.

Does anyone know if someone ever considered implementing a *GDAL driver for the ISOXML format* used in Digital Agriculture / Precision Farming?

It would be very useful to support it in GDAL, so both GIS software and Farm Management Information Systems (FMIS) could much more easily integrate it, offering read/write support.

To my knowledge, there is no standardized support for this as of today. However, even though ISOXML has been around for a while, it is an established industry standard, and widely used throghout the growing Smart Farming community.

I am a software engineer and would be willing to work on a driver, even though I'm not familiar with GDAL core code at all so far. Anyone who would be interested in joining? My employer might offer options for funding.

Many thanks for your input!

Best regards,
Matthias
