format you're not familiar with is obviously a significant task, that said I
did an initial review of it and gave some hints to make it progress. For
major contributions, some tenacity might be necessary to convince grumpy
maintainers :-)

Given that the driver is now available on github and the format is
no longer in active use, I felt that the time you would spend reviewing
the code could probably be better spent elsewhere, at least unless and
until I think my code is better quality.
