I think you need to select "DIGIROAD" on the left first. Then you should get something like

Hi,

Your selected digiroad data sets from the Finnish Transport Agency are available at the following link:

Thank you for your order!

The data set descriptions are available at:

Digiroad materialföljebrev hittas pÄ Digiroads hemsida: http://www.digiroad.fi/dokumentit/sv_SE/foljebrev/

It seems that these shapefiles have M:

1: DR_LINKKI (3D Measured Line String)
1: DR_NOPEUSRAJOITUS (3D Measured Line String)
1: DR_SUURIN_SALLITTU_AKSELIMASSA (3D Measured Line String)
1: DR_SUURIN_SALLITTU_KORKEUS (3D Measured Line String)
1: DR_SUURIN_SALLITTU_MASSA (3D Measured Line String)
1: DR_SUURIN_SALLITTU_PITUUS (3D Measured Line String)
1: DR_SUURIN_SALLITTU_TELIMASSA (3D Measured Line String)
1: DR_VALAISTU_TIE (3D Measured Line String)
1: DR_YHDISTELMAN_SUURIN_SALLITTU_MASSA (3D Measured Line String)

Sorry, in Finnish. For example "DR_NOPEUSRAJOITUS" probably has the speed limit on the road as M.

It looks like I get only one link with some selected layers. Which layers are worth to try?

In the download email you should have K and R data set options (two URLs). Only R has measured geometries.

Thank you very much for the response. (This isn't the first time I've found great example data from Finland, by the way. When I was experimenting with Lidar data a few years ago I found that Finland's collection was enormous!)

However, I can't see what you mean by the "R" data. I selected various "Map Layers" and downloaded a few random shapefiles and none had "Measured" geometry (according to ogrinfo).

Thanks for your help. Sorry if this is a dumb question!

The Finnish national road data was my motivation to add M to OGR.

    You can download it from

    https://extranet.liikennevirasto.fi/extranet/web/public/latauspalvelu
    <https://extranet.liikennevirasto.fi/extranet/web/public/latauspalvelu>

The page is also in English (click EN on top left)

The "R" data is the one you want.

The meta data etc is probably in Finnish only so you may need to
experiment. M values are used to encode point-like attribute
    data into the line strings.

    Good luck,

    Hi,

While I had read about XYM and XYZM on the mailing list a few
months ago, I had no experience with those geometry types until
today when I happened to stumble on

    http://www-static.bouldercolorado.gov/docs/opendata/OSMPTrails.zip
    <http://www-static.bouldercolorado.gov/docs/opendata/OSMPTrails.zip>

which contains a shapefile of trails around Boulder, Colorado
    that has
        Geometry: Measured Line String
    in GDAL 2.1's ogrinfo.

I would like to find some other datasets with XYM (and/or XYZM)
    geometry for testing.

I didn't see any associated with the RFC or tickets associated
    with it.

Can anyone point me to any others? Thanks very much,

    carl
