Hi Tim,

I can tell you just by use alone, the 1.1.1 standard is most prevalent. In the MapServer world, it is 1.1.1 that dominates. I also find, having been at this a long time now, that the 1.1.1 specification is most likely to be supported, if WMS is supported at all, by other mapping engines.

So I support the 1.1.1 default in the WMS mini-driver.

Others of course may disagree with me :)

Does anyone know why the WMS Driver defaults to version 1.1.1 instead of
1.3.0 by default? Does anyone have any objections with this changing to
1.3.0? It seems like 1.3.0 would fall more into line with the
specifications content negotiation.
