Looking back at that PR, the uppper level of Perl as reqirement can
probably be lifted.
I would still prefer a test with --enable-maintainer-mode, to test
that the orginal bug has actually diasppeared.
For the record, the minimum version of perl in current use on Darwin
is 5.8.6 on Darwin8 (the earliest version that is still buildable for
master and other open branches).
