Documented prerequisites may as well be documented: in the cellar...in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.” (Sorry, I like Doug Adams.) The problem being that when "upgrading" to a more current stable release, the development tools get stripped out, I don't remember which ones I need and running the configure/build doesn't tell me what I am missing anew. Therefore, prerequisites should be tested for and any missing should be directly announced. I'll supply a patch to gcc-patches, once my fixinc thing is in. Thank you! - Bruce
