I still believe that http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2013-08/msg00382.html & http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2013-09/msg00036.html should also go into 4.8 (these two small patches have been accepted into trunk) Both patches addresses bugs related to plugins. The first enables a = in a plugin argument, and the second enable .cc files to gengtype.
