Why do you have to put that data structure in GC memory?
In a simple sentence. Because all MELT data are GC-ed.
As a hint every "functional" language implementation I know about (all
Lisps & Schemes, Ocaml, Haskell, SML/NJ...) have garbage collected
closures. So does MELT.
Do you want me to elaborate on this?
