Thank you very much for confirming that the implementation and tests
are acceptable.  Since this patch uses a narrowly scoped fix and does
not fully clean up the potentially unnecessary tie in the
no-frame-pointer epilogue, I would like to wait a little longer to see
whether anyone else has suggestions.  If no new comments arrive, I
will commit it :)
