I don't see any way for this to make gcc-16.  gcc-16 is in regression bugfixes only phase and this is neither a correctness fix nor a regression.  Furthermore it targets rv32 which is a non-priority for my team here at Qualcomm.  So it's hard to justify spending time on it right now.  We'll have to dive back in during the gcc-17 effort.

Sorry, but that's the unfortunately reality.
