The patch is attached compressed due to its size, though even then with
xz -9e, it's rather large.

OK? Regtested on x86_64-pc-linux-gnu with all languages except Go (I
keep hitting a parallel build issue there).
So the only changes we make locally are the NFC stuff like the ChangeLog and README plus configury stuff, right? I'm assuming you're reasonably confident your Go issue is independent of the zlib changes.

Assuming that's correct and you carried over the configury stuff, then I'm OK with it.
