This should be a preparatory patch too, meaning it should go in before the arch flags patch. Depending on how the reworked patch looks, we may want to backport this to earlier releases and that can't happen if it's dependent on the arch flags patch. I'll refrain from reviewing the rest of the patch, as it will obviously change by moving it to a preparatory patch. Peter
