Aah, I was hoping for some dynamic incremental recomputation upon

I see you've reviewed and approved #8 (thanks), where I implemented the
changed prompted by your feedback to this (#6), so now this (#6) is the
only patch in the reduced series that's still pending approval (or
further changes?)
