Yes, I'll plan to work these two separately. Paolo, I should be able to shepherd your suggested patch through. Normally company policy frowns on committing other people's patches, but in a case like this where you're no longer actively doing GCC development, I should be able to overcome that. BTW, Richard, whatever my former issues with update_stmt were are gone, so I'll be able to clean up that wart. Thanks, Bill
