[PATCH, committed] Revert r232560 to fix PR target/69369

Hi,

This patch reverts r232560 which caused multiple failures
for Pointer Bounds Checker.  Patch was bootstrapped and
regtested on x86_64-pc-linux-gnu.  Applied to trunk.
