--enable-dwarf2 seems to work just fine on Cygwin32, except for the fact that GDB turns up its nose at the presence of DWARF debug info in files that aren't ELF (such as WindowsNT PE files). This problem reared its UGLY head when I was trying to debug the built-but-not-installed GCC 4 I keep on hand. Error messages are as follows:
