Ah, looks like you're right. I did see bug 113269 with similar symptoms, but
the comments pointed towards that issue having been resolved at some point, so
I thought it was unrelated. I now tried out the example code provided and found
that https://gcc.gnu.org/g:8911879415d6c2a7baad88235554a912887a1c5c triggers it
as well. releases/gcc-15.2.0 at least produces the unwanted xchg instructions,
not sure at what point this was supposed have been fixed.
