BTW - when I look at the output of:

./gcc/xgcc -Bgcc -dM -E -m64 -xc /dev/null 

on a cross to powerpc-darwin9 from x86_64-darwin21, there is no sign of VSX in
the output - so you need to look for what action introduces it.
