The patch is now (after further validation zero regressions within gcc/g++
testsuite in 2 different test-setups) "out there":

My understanding of the process tells me:

- the relevant maintainers decide about the patch.
- if merged, then this issue can be closed. then...
- the bounty backers (and only they) decide about the claims to the bounty.
