I generally avoid -Wold-style-cast currently, as it is often pretty noisy in code that started off written as C and was then converted to C++, but I'd consider using a separate -Wfunctional-cast, as that would catch just things added post-C++-conversion, which means it would probably be significantly less noisy, and easier to fix.
