You have mentioned what target you're using, so it is hard to guess what is faulty. E.g. on i?86-linux stack must be 16-byte aligned, if it isn't, you're violating the ABI (but gcc has some options where you can ask it to realign the stack dynamically, or assume smaller alignment etc.).
