This patch is not sufficient, some applications still crash after I've applied it to GCC 4.4 branch (to be more precise gcc-4.4-20100427.tar.bz2). I still wonder how GCC 4.4.x and 4.5.0 were ever released, to me it's a zero priority bug. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=40838
