Very hard to answer all those questions and for an architecture which I don't
know well, and for an application which I don't know (of course). For sure
here, in the FSF GCC community, 3.4.x is considered a very, very, old release
branch, completely unmaintained by now. Thus, my general advice: the sooner you
update your tools the better.
