No, MMX and SSE are handled separatelly. -mno-mmx disables MMX regs. It is -mno-sse that turns off SSE registers and everything SSE related, including AVX. -mno-80387 should disable x87 instructions. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=40236
