Reason: prev-gcc/xgcc not able to build executables.

configure: ./gcc-mainline-dp/configure --enable-libssp
--prefix=/opt/gcc-mainline-dp --enable-docdir --enable-htmldir
--enable-languages="c"

After stage1, i tried compiling xgcc and a C file I wrote:

#include <stdio.h>

int main(){
;
return 0;
}

and the error popped up in ld unable to recognize paranthesis:

P.S.: I asked the guys in #slackware regarding the binutils and they told me it
wasn't wonky. I'm not sure if the paranthesising is specific to binutils-2.18.
