It's only on 64bit FC5, 32bit is okay and am installing FC6 to test. Basically a hidden symbol from .o to .a to linking in a .so gives the error listed by the reporter here. I can't tell from the comments which build will carry this patch. It looks like it would be in 4.1, but the last comment re: backporting makes me wonder. Also I wonder if this patch would have been pulled in to the Redhat build; I'm not familiar with the relationship to the main gcc tree.
