struct X{}; void f(X& x) { f(x); f(x); } Also, it is indeed true that --param max-inline-recursive-depth-auto=3 makes this compile instantaneously, but a value of 4 makes it go for a long time. I understand expoentials, but 2^4 isn't that big a number, so I wonder if we're hitting something else super-linear in here -- perhaps something that still in later releases as well?
