There have been too many changes to figure out what fixed this really and 3.3 is no longer being maintained by us. What most likely happened here is something changed the rtl which worked around the problem of the instruction scheduler blowing up. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=20826
