Here is a further reduced testcase:
unsigned long t(void);

void apic_write_atomic(unsigned long reg, unsigned int v)
{
 ((__typeof__(*((volatile unsigned int *)((t())+reg))))t());
}

-Wall is all is needed to reproduce the issue.
