That is incorrect this bug has been verified with gcc-4.0.1 along with the 4.0.1 libgcj's as well as gcc-3.4.3 with the libgcj that comes with gcc-3.4.3. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=23662
